Hi, I’m Pieter – a proud dad, adventurer at heart, and the author behind Little Aiden’s big adventures. The star of these books is based on my real-life son, Aiden, whose boundless curiosity inspired me to create something meaningful, magical, and proudly South African.

I grew up loving stories, and as an adult, I found myself captivated by the epic historical tales of Wilbur Smith. His books sparked a lifelong fascination with the rich, complex history of our land. But when I looked for children’s stories that celebrated South Africa’s heritage in a fun, age-appropriate way… there weren’t many.

I wanted books that are easy to read and understand by little ones. Books with bright, colorful illustrations that pop with life and atmosphere.

That’s when the idea for this series was born – a way to blend storytelling and history, imagination and education. My dream is to leave behind a legacy of “old-fashioned” children’s books: colorful, character-driven stories that spark questions, teach important lessons, and celebrate our heroes, places, and past.
